Fuel Tanker Ignites Fire in Battambang

Battambang: A fuel tanker unloading gasoline has sparked a huge fire in Battambang’s Banan District. One warehouse and a three-story home were razed by Wednesday’s blaze. The tanker was busy transferring gasoline when tragedy struck.

The sound of the explosion ripped across Banan district’s Chheu Teal village on Wednesday afternoon. It came from a gasoline tanker that was quickly consumed by the flames. It was transferring its cargo to a gasoline-filled warehouse when a spark ignited the fuel. The warehouse and a three-storey home attached to the rear all went up in flames.

Residents came running to help along with the provincial firefighting team. It took four hours for the flames to be extinguished. One person has been injured and is recovering in hospital.
